Issyk-Kul: The Pearl of Kyrgyzstan

Issyk-Kul, the “warm lake,” is one of the largest alpine lakes in the world. Surrounded by snow-covered peaks, it never freezes even in the coldest winter.

As a child, I spent summers near its blue waters. I remember the sound of waves, the laughter of children, and the smell of sun and salt.

For Kyrgyz people, Issyk-Kul is sacred — it connects generations and holds stories of our ancestors. Every time I return there, I feel renewed and free.
